President-elect Joe Biden has made energy and climate among his top priorities when he steps into the White House in January. Biden has pledged to make big investments in clean energy and help the U.S. achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Biden’s energy plan hasn’t called for a ban on fossil fuels. Instead, the focus would be on technologies that can capture pollution from oil and other sources. Biden is also proposing a $2 trillion overhaul for energy and transportation infrastructure as a way to tackle both climate change and the pandemic-induced economic downturn. This ambitious agenda is bound to run into some challenges in a divided Congress. What will be the most viable energy policies during the Biden era?
On December 17, POLITICO held a deep-dive conversation on Biden’s energy agenda including fossil fuel production, renewable and clean energy and climate policies.
The virtual program will feature an executive conversation between POLITICO CEO Patrick Steel and API CEO, Mike Sommers.
